EPW - Vaucher Freres, early minute repeater, 59mm, 18K gold (tested) OF original case, signed gilt cuvette, white enamel dial, KWKS, cylinder escapement, 4J, gilt mvt with standing barrel, s#11050 to cuvette. Comes with a short gold-filled chain and a 10K gold (tested) winding key. Gross weight of assembled watch 85.9 dwt (133.6 g). A very interesting early minute repeater which notably features its strike cadrature mounted visibly atop the movement's back plate.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, repeat frequently strikes correctly for hours and quarter-hours (aside from hands being somewhat out of index) but repeat function is inconsistent and typically incorrect for minutes, overhaul needed for fully correct repeat function, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, steelwork with oxide; dial with perimeter hls between 3:30 and 5, 6:30 and 8, and at 9; fine hands, minute with soldered repair and finish loss at its base; case shows very little wear, small mild ding toward lower-left perimeter of rear, small ding to band at 9:30, good engine turning detail; tight bow; good glass crystal. Chain and key show light to medium wear.
